IDHP Accredited Wilderness Therapy Certificate

The IDHP [Institute for Development of Human Potential] offers those individuals interested an opportunity to obtain accreditation from the Institute a Certificate in Wilderness Therapy.

This is NOT a certificate that accredits any therapist training?????????

The first course that received accreditation was in 2007/08 when six individuals started out with four finishing the programme and receiving their accreditation certificate. The majority of these initial participants were already qualified as a counsellor or therapist but this is not a pre-exquisite to being able to undertake this course.

The initial course was run under the auspices of An-Turus which no longer has any involvement in the programme. In its place, Mosaic Resources Ltd has taken on the role of course deliverer. It is expected that the second course will take place in October 2009 or spring 2010.

It is recommended that those individuals interested in doing this certificate accreditation in Wilderness Therapy should register their interest a.s.a.p.

The cost for undertaking this twelve month (part time) self and peer accreditation programme has not yet been set but will be in the region of £3,000 per person.
